On the 15th September 2016, Iceland Food’s suppliers, partners and affiliates gathered together at Carden Park in Cheshire for the 24th Annual Charity Golf Day & Gala Dinner.
An early start in the Golf Clubhouse, and then the golfers took to the Nickclaus and Cheshire courses for the 18 hole competitions. Other competitions took place throughout the course including Nearest the Pin, Longest Drive, a Charity wager hole and the chance to win a Mini Cooper by scoring a Hole in One. Players were treated to some delicious food around the course including a Kelly’s ice cream van, champagne, Magners, a Greggs hut and a Snack Shack serving fajitas and buffalo waffles and much more!
Following a successful day on the golf course players were welcomed into Malcolm Walker’s home at Broxton Old Hall. Everyone was treated to a fantastic three course meal hosted for the 19th year running by Willie Miller. Throughout the evening guests were kept entertained with live acts such as Laserman, impressionist Jon Cumshaw and MadHen, quoted as Paloma Faith’s new favourite band!
The main auction on the night was a huge success including lots such as Celebrity Juice VIP Experience, a Luxury Villa in Thailand, VIP Wimbledon Finals 2017, Tour de France Final Day and Gino D’Acampo Dinner for 6 to name a few.
In total the event raised a record-breaking £500,000! Which is a whopping £70,000 more than last year! The monies raised were donated to the Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation with the main benefactors this year UCL Dementia Research.
