On the 26th July, the D&G team were ready for the arrival of Holland and Barrett’s suppliers and partners at the award winning Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales to take part in the Holland and Barrett Charity Golf Day and Gala Dinner. We had over 102 golfers take to the Montgomerie and the 2010 Ryder Cup Courses with plenty of fundraising opportunities including Nearest the Pin, Longest Drive, Beat the Pro and a Hole in One to raise those vital funds for Rainbows and Healthy Hope, two fantastic charities.
For those wanting a more adrenaline fuelled day, we welcomed 66 guests to the Thrill Seeker Experience where they took part in activities such as Duck Herding, Blind 4×4 Driving, Maze Runner, Honda Pilots and Segways, all caught on film of course! 70 guests made their way to The Forum Spa where they were treated to a champagne breakfast followed by their choice of two treatments and enjoyed an afternoon of relaxation in the spa facilities.
After the day’s activities, we were joined by just over 420 guests for the evening Gala Dinner in the Caernarfon Suite. The evening commenced with a champagne reception and a fantastic three course meal. Once desserts were cleared, guests were treated to a cracking performance from the UK’s leading comedian and magician Pete Firman and Holland and Barrett’s very own CEO Peter Aldis conducted the eagerly anticipated main auction which included some unique lots such as a week’s stay in a stunning Spanish Villa, a signed Boxing Glove by world champion Anthony Joshua and for one lucky winner a Sir Geoff Hurst Signed 1966 England Shirt! The silent auction was as popular as ever and guests could browse via their tablets in the comfort of their seat for some truly amazing lots, did someone say bidding war?
With the evening activities drawing to a close, singing trio Bloc Off The Wall got everyone on their feet and onto the dance floor to dance the night away!Holland & Barrett Annual Charity Event Brochure
