On 24th September 2015, 112 golfers took to the beautiful Berkshire Golf Course near Ascot to participate in the annual Argos Charity Event in aid of Macmillan, hosted by Home Retail Group CEO, John Walden. Breakfast and registration began first thing where golfers could purchase their fantastic goody bags which included a TomTom watch, XPO Logistics branded golf balls, a valuables bag, branded tees, a Taylormade Gift Set including golf balls, towel, pitch fork, hat clip and marker and refreshments for throughout the day.
After teeing off holes on the blue and red courses, golf guests enjoyed a fantastic carvery lunch whilst having the opportunity to network amongst some of the senior Argos directors and other Argos suppliers. Prize giving followed with a delighted Fujitsu team taking home the Argos Event Cup.
Guests then made their way down to Ascot Racecourse where the dinner was hosted by the fabulous Rick Edwards with entertainment from the ever fantastic rap duo ‘Abandoman’ who took the room by storm with their free style comedy and music act.
The main auction on the night was conducted by BBC’s Charlie Ross with lots including holidays to Spain, Barbados and Mauritius, hospitality tickets for England v Pakistan at Lord’s, hospitality tickets to the NFL at Wembley hosted by John and Peggy Walden and a round of golf and dinner at Roux hosted by David Robinson.
The evening was rounded off with a set from Scouting from Girls including songs such as ‘She’s So Lovely!’ and ‘Posh Girls’ followed by XFM Presenter and DJ, Gabby. D&G Partners are proud to have worked with Argos, helping them raise an incredible amount for Macmillan by selling, managing and producing the event.
